This year the SAP team collaborated 20th SAP TechEd in North America. Unresponsive is the perfect definition that can explain this year’s TechEd but not for those who are new to this. There are two issues that changed the feel of the event though there are a few facets. The first issue is the location where it took place i.e. Sands Convention Centre basement. The change was due to SAP losing their priority at the venues for a couple of years. This meant a longer journey from breakout rooms to presentation, but the major impact was on sound levels. The nastiest of this was because of the presenters in the Expert Networking stalls where they had to struggle to be heard.
The second issue that changed the feel of the event is the SAP TechEd coincides with the Oracle Open World in San Francisco. Because of this, the usual members of the analyst community and press were not in town and SAP held many announcements until the Barcelona TechEd that is going to be in November.
However, SAP announces the SAP HANA Express Edition availability at this exhibition. Which is a downloadable version of SAP HANA that can be installed anywhere.
