1it enterpriseOryx Pro is a System76’s Ubuntu-based Linux laptop with some features that are found in some fastest Windows Laptops. The Oryx Pro can be configured with a Nvidia’s latest Pascal GeForce GTX 1070 GPU and 15.6-inch 4K screen to be the ultimate Linux gaming laptop. The starting price of the laptop is $1,987 with these features and with theaddition of memory and storage, the price will go up. The top end model with a 9TB of SSD storage comes with price tag of $7,012 with Ubuntu 16.-4 or 16.10 preloaded. Some other configurations include Nvidia’s GeForce GTX 1060 GPU with 15.6-inch full HD screen and $1,499 price tag or 17.3-inch 1080p screen. More gaming titles are expected to arrive for Linux even though Windows Laptops are leading in gaming now.

 

For scientific applications and engineering purpose, the Oryx Pro can be used. Frustrated over slow Mac upgrades many professionals are moving on to the Linux. The System76 laptop has been designed accordinglyin order to take advantage of 4K screens and Nvidia GPUs. Therefore, without any additional tweaking, the features will work right out of the box. As Intel hasn’t released Kaby Lake chips for the gaming laptops this laptop is incorporated with the older Skylake chips.
