In its memory database, SAP has launched the next iteration of HANA targeting the adding of data and database management and building of developer ecosystem along with a new application-programming interface. Hybris as a service and SAP HANA 2 was introduced at the TechEd conference in Barcelona by SAP. The update being part of the twice a year update cycle will be targeting the in-memory database to be easier to implant into agile IT and invention efforts said Marie Goodell, senior vice president of marketing for SAP HANA. After about few weeks of the launching of an express edition of HANA the HANA 2 efforts arrived. Goodell mentioned the HANA express edition has reaped 7,000 downloads. HANA 2 will be available for the users on November 30 added Goodell. Also via its Hybris marketplace, SAP will be launching a series of micro services based on HANA 2.
Following are some features of the HANA 2:
- Development tools with new languages, APIs and application server.
- Data management features with improvements to data quality, enterprise modeling, tiered storage, and integration.
- Database management tools to manage and secure assignments. Administration Enhancements are also included.
- Analytics improvements with new processing engines for the graph, streaming data, text and spatial. For association, classification, regression and time series new algorithms are introduced to drive new features.
HANA 2 will be having a new cloud service based on fact extraction and entity alongside linguistic analysis for the two micro services. In an arrangement with the European Space Agency satellite data analyzing and adding it with SAP HANA spatial processing, another micro service has been developed.
