Atari, a legendary interactive entertainment Production Company is planning to build a consumer device to communicate over the SigFox low Power Network. The device can be used to for home, safety, lifestyle, pets etc. SigFox network users will always be able to track the device location.
SIGFOX is the world’s leading provider of dedicated connectivity for the Internet of Things. Its technology is designed to communicate asmall amount of data in either way with a power consumption low enough for the battery operated devices to last years without charge.
The other partner in this project in this project ‘Atari’ can be recognized for the popular video game named ‘Pong’ back in the 1970s. Even though the company is not selling any form of hardware recently.
Each product from SigFox’s will connect itself to the network as soon as the battery inserted. This technology is called LPWAN (Low Power Wide Area Network). 18 countries and more than 7 million devices are connected to SigFox’s network today. But only a few area covered in a country like the United States, it is going to take a long time for SigFox to connect the rest of the areas.
SigFox network users include customers like energy companies with smart meters. The involvement of a brand like Atari may expand the boundaries of the company and increase the demand as well.
